Denture Adjustments
Dentures are a prosthetic replacement for the loss of natural teeth. They are a non-changing appliance in an oral environment that with time will inevitably change. As the disparity between the static shape of the denture and the changing shape of the gum becomes greater, irritation to the gum can occur. These irritations are most often resolved with a simple alteration, or adjustment to the denture. The most common risk to successful adjusting is when the irritation is disregarded or ignored and the situation is allowed to manifest itself. If you are experiencing any discomfort with your dentures, be honest with yourself, recognize it, and have it attended to. We would be happy to help.
